Hey there!
I'm a writer, creative director and first-generation Vietnamese-Texan living in Austin. In my 18+ years in advertising, I spent my career at some of the best agencies in New York. Now, I’m a freelancer and wandering to wherever life and ads take me.
My freelance company is named AdsNow! 2 in honor of my mom’s nail salon which was named NailsNow! 2. Even though there was never a first NailsNow!, she added the 2 so it would look “more successful.” This was my first lesson in advertising.
Some brands I've made ads for are GEICO, Google, DIRECTV, Venmo, Crate&Barrel, MTV Networks, ESPN and the NFL.
Some of my ads have been recognized by Cannes Lions International, The One Show, AICP, The International YoungGuns Awards and D&AD.
Sometimes I get to talk about ads on panels at The 3% Conference, The Female Quotient and NYC Creative Week..
Sometimes I teach classes at The University of Texas about making dumb ads and presenting dumb ads.
I also do interview things.
Here’s a list of questions I answered for Muse by Clio, if you want to find out why How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days played a pivotal role in my life.
Here’s a little interview The One Club about how I approach freelance life and the differences between hard pants vs. soft pants.
And in my free time (hahaha), I write children’s books.
My debut picture book, Princess and the Pea-tition, was on The Today Show. You can find out more about the kid books here.
Reach out if you need someone to write, creative direct or make breakfast tacos. I can do those things. Sometimes all at once.
